Today is Opening Day. In less than 10 hours, I will be watching my team, the Milwaukee Brewers, from the friendly confines of Miller Park. I have to be up in 3 hours in order to meet up with a ton of other Superfans in order to tailgate and begin the season properly. Highlights of the tailgate: Bloody Mary bar, Hammershlagen, and of course obscene amounts of meat to be grilled in the parking lot. Please feel free to stop by and say hello! I do plan on taping some footage for my run at the 2014 MLB Fan Cave (early bird gets the worm), and am focused on having some fun. A big thank you to fellow Superfans Nick Teichert, Josh Riewe, and Superfan Handy Jay Mack for handling most of the planning this year. I was a bit burned out after a very busy spring.
In other news, I do plan on blogging more this year, and documenting every game. I have already attended 7 games so far in AZ and Exhibition at Miller Park, so I’ve gotten a good taste of live ball.
One of my best friends, Superfan Silvester, is moving to the promised land of Arizona in less than a week. I first went to Wrigley with him, and have attended a ton of games since we met 8 years ago. He was with me when we were sitting first row behind the dugout (first time on TV) and we’ve been to more than our fair share of Opening Days. He is known for having “authentic” straw hats, dressing up as Jesus one Easter at the ballgame, and is absolutely in love with Craig Counsell. I wish you luck, you truly will be missed my friend.
Oh, and the Brewers emailed me. They asked me to throw out the first pitch on May 5th. More info to follow on that one!
